Find the right 30 seconds in terabytes of logs.

Seekframe indexes your rosbag and MCAP recordings by topic, message type, time range, events and metadata — robot, site, software version — so you can search the whole archive and preview a slice without downloading the bag. Runs on your own storage or in our cloud.

Problem01 / 07

Why it hurts today

  1. P-01

The archive grows faster than anyone can browse it. Every robot, every shift, every test run adds split bag files to an S3 bucket or a NAS, organised by folder names and whoever remembers what happened.

  2. P-02

Finding one incident means downloading gigabytes. To check whether a recording contains the right topic around the right moment you often pull the whole bag, open it, scrub, and move on to the next one.

  3. P-03

The context lives elsewhere. Which robot, which site, which software build, which ticket — it sits in spreadsheets, Slack threads and file names, not next to the data, so the same question gets answered from scratch every time.

Solution02 / 07

What Seekframe does

  • One catalog for every recording

Topics, message types, time ranges and message counts are read from each file, plus your metadata (robot, site, software version) and events, into one searchable index.

    B-01
  • Queries, not folder trees

Ask for '/scan and /tf on robot amr-07, build 4.2, last week, around every e-stop' and get the matching time windows across all recordings.

    B-02
  • Your data stays put

Self-hosted next to your S3 bucket or NAS, or in our cloud. Recordings are read in place; only the index is built, and previews fetch just the slice you ask for.

    B-03

Process03 / 07

How it works

  1. Step 1: Point it at your storage

Connect an S3-compatible bucket or a network share. Seekframe scans existing .mcap, .db3 and .bag files and watches for new ones.

  2. Step 2: Index the recordings

It reads topics, schemas, time ranges and statistics — using the MCAP summary and index records where present — and attaches your metadata and events.

  3. Step 3: Search the archive

Filter by robot, site, build, topic, message type, time and event, from the web UI or an API.

  4. Step 4: Preview and export a slice

Inspect the matching window in the browser, then export just those seconds as a new MCAP file for your tools.

Audience04 / 07

Who it's for

  • Robotics teams whose log archive has outgrown folders and spreadsheets
  • AMR and mobile robot fleets recording ROS 1 or ROS 2 bags in the field
  • Manipulation and perception teams collecting data for debugging and training
  • Autonomous vehicle R&D groups with tens of terabytes of MCAP recordings
  • Teams that must keep recordings on their own storage

FAQ06 / 07

Questions, answered

Q01 Is Seekframe available today?

No. Seekframe is in development. We are onboarding a small group of founding teams first, and will email the waitlist when there is something to try.

Q02 Which formats will be supported?

MCAP first, since it is the default storage format for ROS 2 bags (rosbag2) and carries its own index and summary records. rosbag2 SQLite (.db3) and ROS 1 (.bag) files are planned for the first release too. Files without an index can still be cataloged, but slower: they have to be read once.

Q03 Where is my data stored, and who can access it?

In the self-hosted version, recordings and the index stay on your infrastructure; we have no access unless you give it to us. In the cloud version, the index is hosted by us and recordings stay in your bucket, read with credentials you control and can revoke. We will never use your data to train models or share it with third parties, and you will be able to export and delete everything.

Q04 Do I need to change how I record?

No. Seekframe reads the files you already have. Recording to MCAP with chunk indexes and adding metadata records makes indexing faster and richer, but it is not required.

Q05 How is this different from a log viewer?

Viewers are great once you know which file to open. Seekframe is about finding that file and that time window across the whole archive, and then handing a small slice to the tools you already use.

Q06 Is Seekframe affiliated with ROS or Open Robotics?

No. ROS is a trademark of Open Robotics, used here only to describe compatibility. Seekframe is an independent product.

Q07 Can I pre-order?

Yes. A pre-order charges the first month ($149) upfront. If Seekframe doesn't launch, you get a full refund, and you can ask for a full refund at any time before delivery, for any reason; we process refunds within 14 days.
